Terms of Use

The rules for using Coast, kept as short and clear as we can.

The short version

1. Agreeing to these terms

By using the Coast website or apps (“Coast”), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Coast. You must be at least 13 to use Coast, and if you’re under 18 a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

2. What Coast does

Coast helps you plan trips: it suggests routes, builds day-by-day plans, and helps with wishlists, budgets, packing, sharing and alerts. Parts of Coast are in beta and may change, pause or be removed as we improve it.

3. Accounts and guest use

You can plan as a guest; guest trips are stored on your device only. If you create an account, keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You’re responsible for activity on your account.

4. Free planning and Coast Live

5. Plans are suggestions

Coast uses AI and outside data to suggest routes, times, prices, weather, opening hours and travel times. These are estimates and can be wrong or change. Always confirm important details, including schedules, entry rules, visas, health and safety requirements, directly with the airline, ferry, hotel, venue or official source. You decide what to book and do, and you’re responsible for your own travel.

6. Bookings and other companies

Coast may link to other sites to search or book flights, stays, tickets and more. Those bookings are between you and that company, under their terms. We’re not responsible for their services, prices or cancellations. We may earn a commission when you book through some links, at no extra cost to you.

7. Your content

Your trips, notes and anything you add remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run Coast for you, including showing them to people you choose to share with. Don’t add anything you don’t have the right to share, including other people’s private information without their OK.

8. Using Coast fairly

Please don’t misuse Coast. That includes: breaking the law; harassing others; trying to access accounts or data that aren’t yours; interfering with or overloading the service; copying or scraping Coast; or reverse engineering the apps except where the law allows.

9. Our content

Coast, its name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use Coast for your personal travel planning. Place information, maps and photos may come from third parties and stay subject to their terms.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Coast and delete your account at any time from Profile › Privacy and terms. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we ever shut down Coast, we’ll give reasonable notice so you can download your trips.

11. Disclaimers

Coast is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that Coast will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or that plans will suit your needs.

12. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Coast is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for missed connections, bookings, costs or travel disruptions arising from your use of Coast. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Coast in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

13. Apple and Google

If you use Coast on iPhone or Android, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren’t responsible for Coast or its support, but they are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use must also follow the App Store or Google Play terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you’re a consumer, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you.

15. Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are important, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Coast after that means you accept the new terms.
